Hi everyone! I just joined this group as I have been bitten by the chicken bug and want to be around like-minded people that understand my obsession
I got my first 3 hens November 2nd, which has turned into 7 more hens and a Roo. In that short time, I've already upgraded my coop once too! I always swore I'd never have chickens but here we are. I am loving every second of it. I could spend hours just watching them do chicken things. I know its controversial, but I typically let my flock free range dawn to dusk daily as I work from home and can keep a watchful eye. They are all happy and healthy.
I may be new to chickens but not to owning livestock. My husband and I have a small hobby farm on just over 5 acres with 2 horses, 2 Nigerian Dwarf goats, a Dexter heifer who is a companion to the horses, and 3 dogs. I love this lifestyle more than I could put into words. Even the hard days are worth it.
