Heyo!

Just put my Schofield Silvers from KC on lock last night. Excited about that. 22 out of 24 developed on these shipped eggs, and they are gorgeous. Lots of rocking, rolling, and wiggling.

You ever hear them knock from inside the shell? I swear one is knocking in there... maybe I’m going nuts.

Also my first batch (of this season anyway) is nearly 2 weeks old. I have 15, lost one that died suddenly without any clue as to why. It happens.

Here are some fun pics.

Yes that is my youngest son. Lol. He felt the quail love last night lolololol my kids LOVE baby quail - and they love them when they get older too though they are kept outside. (The quail not the kids. I let the kids sleep inside usually )

Hope everyone is well. I have been super busy and totally got lost on the threads here *sigh*

Pretty! Good luck on the eggs!

And yes, sometimes you do hear them knocking from inside the shell, if they're internally pipped and starting on the actual hard work.

That's very nice of you.

Yeah I don’t have a coop big enough to hold both the kids yet!

Jk of course don’t anyone get mad at me, they have bunk beds - inside the house! (For now)

Wow, how did you get them to be so tame? I have a batch of two week olds and they were completely tame the first few days after hatch but then they got crazy skittish! Even though I interact with them every day.

I'm retaming them now and I can touch them and move in the cage a bit better, but they wouldn't sit like those fluffy babies in your pictures yet!

Maybe it is because they are in my home office, and I work here all day, and my 13 year old does home school in here and then also my husband after work and my little one talks to them and picks them up (when they are older I’m afraid he will drop tiny chicks he is almost 8 but still)

So they get a lot of attention and handling but don’t worry they are definitely still skittish LOL!!!

And it is not always easy taking pics! Lol! They have their moments ;) I need to take new pics actually :)
