new duck care

hi i was at TSC yesterday and pick up five golden sex links and one large pekin duck.. i dont know too much about raising duck.. i have a bowl of chick starter and crack corn, is this good for him...also he isnt fully feather out yet so what age do they feather out( not sure what age it is) and does they really need a pond? I dont have one, and any other advie would be appreciated




also just to throw this in I put it in a pen with a silkie hen and the pekin follow the hen around everywhere.. its just tooo cute

Make sure you are using non-medicated chick starter. Also, I wouldnt give him any cracked corn until he is older.

Ducks dont need a pond, but a small plastic child pool will work great.

They don't really need water to swim in, however, they love it! See my website to see what I have done with my new ducks. I gave them small bits of lettuce and worms from the beginning along with non-medicated grain. Good luck and ENJOY!!
