New duck owners

Yes, when we first got them, not knowing their sex, we came up with Dublin and Dingle (towns in Ireland, husband heritage is Irish) so that sounded unisex. He's planning on doing some kind of remodeling of their house or adding some kind of shelter over it. :)

Haha that seems to be the consensus :) I was afraid of having one of each and the chance of having babies, being new duck owners and just learning this. Hope they are both girls, and we should have lots of eggs! :) Thanks for all your help. I'm sure I'll be back with more questions! Still a little concerned about getting through our first winter but shall see how it goes!

Those names are absolutely adorable! Good luck with the winterizing your ducks are in good hands. There's plenty of articles on here about prepping for the cold snowy months (I got my info from a different website but lets keep it hush hush)

Duck ramps need to be much wider and much less steep than chicken ramps. Perhaps you can take the two halves apart and put the house part on the ground or a few inches above ground and attach a run to it / around it.

I have another question, they won't fly away will they?? One of them keeps getting out of the confined "yard" space and I'm thinking she might be flying over their fencing?

They can go under the fence? So if there is say a spot that has a little, maybe 2 inch gap (stuck up on a rock) they will just kinda squeeze under and through it?

I use garden staples to secure my fencing to the ground and let my aussie dog try to get out if he fails nothing will Get in or out including the ducks.
