Hello! I’m new to ducks and every time I’m around my one duckling baby she cries and peeps… is this normal? She also pecks my fingers, my clothes my hands…. She cries when I pick her up… is she afraid of me?

Yes, if she's the only one, that's normal. She's lonely and wants attention. Ducks are very social and do best if they have some ducky friends. Are you planning to get her any?

This is my little duck

My partner doesn’t want to, she was actually a rescue…

Sure, it's just not best for the duck in most cases.
I don’t think I can get him to change his mind, he definitely didn’t want this one…. So I’m worried to bring up she needs a friend. But she also won’t leave me alone. She keeps peeping and crying…

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but she won't stop the crying if it's just her. ☹️ Most people can't give a duck their attention 24/7 and, even if they can, it's not the same as her having duck friends that speak her language.

It would be good to at least consider rehoming her to someone who has ducks. ♥️

If she is a rescue does that mean she is a wild duckling? if so best to contact a rehabber and give her to them to raise that way they can release them back into the wild. If you keep this duckling it will be dependent on you for food and care and will not make it back in the wild.
:welcome
