This is the new and improved duck pin! Toaster is in there alone right now but the geese come next week and when they are old enough they will be out their with him!

Is that enough room for three geese and a duck during the day? It is not completely predator proof but we have two very good watch dogs that roam the yard and one guard dog that WILL go after any animal she sees.

It seems you are already aware that it isn't predator proof, which is good, because I was going to give you my own first hand account of a pen built nearly identical to yours... I woke up to find a dog inside the pen and all the poultry dead.

Anyway, as far as actual space does, assuming you don't have multiple males, it's probably okay, but it will be reduced to mud very quickly. There is no way to prevent trample damage to your grass in a pen so small.

I always seem to have negative things to say

but my intention is to be helpful. It looks like the pen is next to a wall or structure. Be aware that even if you have dogs roaming around, if you get a predator that can climb into and out of the pen, it can get your ducksand the dogs may not be able to be effective. Can you make at least a nighttime area that IS predator proof?

Oh the duck, used to be ducks ):, stay inside at night in the upstairs bathroom, the only threat for them there is cats, who are TERRIFIED of the ducks! The geese will be hopefully staying in the garage at night unless a house is built as well! My mom and step dad are getting a divorce so this pin was not meant to be permanent in any way, but it will do for a month or so, we will most likely be moving.
With the dog thing thank you I did not think about that... Hopefully a coyote or a fox of raccoon wouldn't come near the yard with the dogs roaming and barking, but I guess it could, and will, happen. Our yard is 1.5 acres and the fenced in area around our pool + house probably takes up a little less than half an acre, and there is a very large field our property backs up to which is fenced with two layers of barbed wire because of escaped cows and horses in the past, which I assumed would add up to a safe day time pin for my baby!

Thank you for the input more would really be appreciated!
