We just went out about an hour ago to get an Ancona duck to accompany our single silver appleyard duck, but since being out she basically hasn't stopped quacking. Will she quiet down? Should we look into muscovies? Do they quack as loud? Our appleyard only really makes noise when we're playing with her or feeding her, we have neighbors so a duck quacking like this would NOT work....

Give her time adjust to her new surroundings and routine. I bet she will quiet down once settled in.
Ducks are pretty resistant to change.

We were mostly worried about them not getting along but they're hanging out pretty close already, but she just keeps quacking LOL will it take like a few hours or days or more like weeks? Cause I'm not sure how our neighbors would feel about it haha

Well. . depends on the duck. When I've gotten new ducks it's usually just a day or two they quack a lot. . and more in just the first few hours.
Once settled in mine only get loud if something is going on, they see something, they want treats, one of them is broody, juvenile youngins just learning to quack. . that sort of thing. The rest of the time they are fairly quiet. And I have call ducks. . notorious for being loud.
Hopefully she will calm down for you soon!

I hope she does too! She's really pretty and I'd love for our duck to not be lonely, I just never expected this constant noise, I know it's ducks but wow she's like extra loud and echo-ey!

:gigYa, my Cayuga ducks can almost be louder than the calls when they decide they wanna hear themselves. We also have neighbors so I've been fortunate they stay quiet most of the time.

Now I should add I have no experience with the ancona breed, I'm trying to think of someone to tag that has them. . but I'm drawing a blank. :hmm
