New ducklings- odd looking neck

Hi all- picked up my khaki Campbell’s and welsh harlequin boy and girls yesterday. I’m brand new to ducks so I have no idea if this is normal- but my khaki Campbell boy has a weird neck/throat thing happening. Kind of looks like a double chin what’s going on?! His name is admiral Quackbar

Almost look's like something is lodged in his throat, How does it feel? Is he acting and breathing normally?

that is weird looking. I wonder if he ate shavings and they're stuck? I see you don't have any but maybe where he came from did?

TSC broods there chicks/ducks in shavings. Do you get them from TSC?

exactly what I was thinking! How would you get them out though?

Just keep an eye on it. If it's eating and drinking fine I wouldn't worry.

Maybe a few drops of olive oil to loosen it up?

There are shavings underneath the pads... so we thinking he ate one of those?! olive oil is a good idea I’ll try that. He’s eating and drinking- kind of looks like he’s trying to work things down. Dang it. Just got them yesterday and already a duck fail.

if it is shavings the neck area will feel like shavings, Good chance you can look down its mouth and see it

Only a few drops, they can aspirate very easily. Especially with something lodged in their throat. Is he shaking his head rapidly with his mouth open?. They will also quirk there head in weird ways when they are trying to get something down too.
