Hi!

I have 5 newly hatched runner ducks and month-old ducklings as well (1 WH duck and 2 drakes (I think) 1 Cayuga and 1 WH). I basically put my eggs in the incubator as soon as the first ones were done hatching.

It's 86 degrees outside and I decided to start putting my new ducklings outside during the hottest period of the day in a little enclosure within the pen to start creating contact with the other ones.

Any advice on how I should proceed in the coming days/weeks?

Thanks :)

It might be another month before you can try putting them together. The 1 months won’t accept the little ones right now, and even if they did, could easily trample them.

The little enclosure is a good start. Keep that up, and once the little ones are big enough, let everyone run around together in an open area. Chasing is okay, but biting is not. Continue to let them run around together, and ideally, everyone’ll get along by the time they’re fully feathered.

Thanks for your response and advice! I'll keep the post updated with how it's going to go :)
