Pretty normal for winter. Actual temperatures more than a couple of degrees below freezing, or windchill in the negative teens in °C (under +10F) would be an unusually cold snap but we had about a week of that at the start of the month.

Where I live gets more wind and higher humidity than most of the UK, so it can feel colder even when actual temperatures aren't much different.

Up here we're at the same latitude as southern Alaska, or about 80 miles south of Canada's northern territories, so we'd be a whole lot colder without the North Atlantic Current!
