New ducklings

One too many drakes mating a female. I'd separate the female give her a break. If you introduce the ducklings to her you'll have to di it slowly for one thing 3-4 weeks old ducklings aren't almost grown and can be injured by an adult duck so introduce through fencing so they can meet but not touch. And before introiducting to your drakes they need to be breeding age if you have any females or the drakes can injure them. This whole process is going to take a bit of time.

Drakes are rough on females if one particular drake is being over the top then maybe it's time to rehome.
Ok, so ducks don't mate for life then? I guess once my one drake lost his mate last week, to the owl, he must be breeding the only female left then?

Oh sorry. Mis read. No ducks do not pair up like geese do, not in the same way. Wild ducks will take a mate during breeding season but soon as she goes to nesting he is off looking for another female. Domestics just mate with who ever, they may have a favorite in the bunch and over mate her but they don't just pick a female and stick with her the rest of their life. That is why it's best to have a ratio of 3 or more females to 1 drake.

Very sorry for your loss.

Thanks for the info!!! Now I know! I will be rehoming the drake(s) then. Will female ducks get along with chickens? Thinking of only keeping my female, but I know they are social animals, right, and the babies are not ready to mingle with her. I don't want to cause her more stress.
