New Ducklings!

Got my new ducklings this morning from PO. 3 Khakis and 3 Welsh Harlequins — all girls. Sadly, one of the Welshies was DOA.

I ordered from Meyer Hatchery, which is based in Ohio (like me). I learned yesterday that my order was actually fulfilled by Metzger Farms in California! That's a long journey for 1 day old birds!

NOWHERE on Meyer's website, nor in any communications to me, did they indicate that they used other vendors. I'm a little ticked off. Anyone else had that experience?

Otherwise, I think they're doing well, so far. Cute as buttons, eating and drinking a lot. Next few days are critical.

Cute! I’ve got 5 Ancona ducklings on their way from Cackle in Missouri and I’m in California. They’ll be here today!

@DucksOhio Why yes I have had the same experience. Read my thread titled "they have shipped". Just found out late yesterday after many panic attacks that my order was also fulfilled by Metzer instead of Murray McMurray. I am not very happy myself as I am in Maryland and still do not have my girls. I am told they will be delivered to my PO this afternoon.

thank you, sorry about your little one that did not make it. You babies are beautiful! And yes I chose somewhere closer to me for a reason. If they cannot fulfill the order they should give us the choice. I would have seen if I could have paid more shipping to get them here quicker

I read your thread about your experience with MM. Hah! I thought I was the only one with duckling anxiety!! Wine helps.
