Greetings!

I recently lost my crested rouen to a fox that has been terrorizing the neighborhood. My male pekin Sunny was very upset, this is his second buddy lost to a fox! I brought home 2 young female pekins for him last night, that were hatched in April. His reaction to them was much different than we had thought. We expected him to immediately try to mate with them, but instead, he was scared of them lol!

We're having trouble keeping the girls in the yard, I'm guessing because they came from a farm where they had several acres to roam? My yard is just under an acre. I've got 3 baby pools full of water for them right now. We will be digging a small pond within the coming weeks. The girls like to take off quickly and we have to keep chasing them down. This morning, I brought my large dog pen outside to keep them in while I'm at work so they don't have to stay cooped up all day. Is there anything we can do to keep them in the yard and avoid having to build a fenced area?

I have them in a small pen right now with a baby pool, and they've just been chilling in the pool all day loving it. Sunny's pool is right next to their pen, so they've been getting to know each other better. Thanks for the replies =)
