:frow Welcome quail enthusiast! What an adorable bird you have decided to begin with! :clap:clap
Are you thinking of sticking with cute birds? Both chickens and ducks come in bantam sizes. I enjoyed my bantam lavender Ameraucanas (Unfortunately, so did a cat), and I’m considering call ducks.
Even turkeys can be small. And cows, goats, donkeys... :D
I will eventually move on to chickens, but after buying the new house we just won’t have enough to start a chicken operation from scratch. I find that at this point in our lives we could easily handle a quail adventure, then move on to chickens in the future. Space isn’t an issue so I do plan to have standard chickens some day!
I do want goats down the line too

Thank you for this! I’m trying to do as much research as I can before taking the plunge, so these things help for sure

:welcome :frow Where are you lurking from? Just curious. Make your coop twice the size you plan on and predator proof because more than likely the chicken math will kick in and everything likes chickens. Good luck with your new home and have fun...
Still getting the hang of replying while on mobile! I definitely plan to make a fortress for my chickies as I’ve personally seen the devastation that not predator-proofing can do :hit my friend had 7 chickens, they got wiped out one by one, he raised several chicks to adulthood, and they all got killed one by one. He still never predator-proofed his coop after all that!
