New easter egger bantams

I was going to wait a few more weeks but I also wanted to post some progress pictures. The yellow one is still a good size bigger than the black one. She also started getting rusty colored feathers on her head and almost seems like a couple on the shoulders the day after I made this post. The comb seems to be a tint pinker and a real small bump. I'm not sure what age they get them but looks like some hackle feathers starting to show?

The black one I believe is a hen at this point but definitely need to wait a few more weeks. No comb development at all and no change in color. She is also much nicer.

Here are some pics mostly of the yellow one. It's hard to capture details on the black one but there is a decent one of the comb. These are now 5 weeks and 4 days old.

I was surprised how quickly the yellow one started developing a lot more color. I'm leaning strongly towards cockerel now. The physical size compared to the black one is much bigger, the behavior has started to become a little bit more dominant, and looks like its getting the rusty wing bars.
I had heard you can some times tell by laying them on their back and if they kick their feet out its a cockerel and if they tuck them in its a pullet. When I did this the yellow one kicked its feet out and the black one tucked them in. Maybe an old wives tale?

Will be interesting to find out

Tomorrow they will be 7 weeks. I'm confident the yellow is a cockerel. The comb has been slowly turning red. Still too early to tell for sure? The black one still has no comb at all so I am hoping shes a pullet. She just started getting some white tips on her feathers around the neck.
They both have some beautiful beards!

Unfortunately I can't keep roos in the city. How much longer should I keep him around before I find someone who can take him? I ordered 5 ee bantams from cackle hatchery which shipped during all the snow most the country had in February. They sent me 6 but sadly 4 were doa and only these two made it by the time I got them from the post office (shipping was less than 2 days and PO called me before they even opened). I am getting 5 more May 5th, and should be a better arrival rate. I don't want the one pullet getting lonely either. So maybe keep until it crows or the new chicks are old enough for the coop?
