I've read many threads about pullets starting to lay who lay very, very small eggs, mis-shapen eggs, shell-less eggs, or "fart eggs"...

Is this always the case though? My pullets are starting and nothing but normal eggs, a little smaller than my older gals, but not tiny, malformed or anything like that.

Thanks!

I got my first two today and they are small but perfect! (except that they were laid in the compost bin.)

I've got about 4 dozen so far from about 6 of my hens and they have all been small but perfect...

My very first egg ever (about 2 years ago) was about the size of a quarter! Granted it was from a banty hen, but it was teeny tiny. All have been normal since then

Just one egg, from one hen, one time.

Good to know!

I didn't know if I was "missing" some or something! I'd hate for my chickens to be "weird" from laying normal eggs! LOL

Thanks!

We just started getting our 1st eggs about 2 weeks ago. They are small, but normally shaped. Over the past 2 weeks, they have gradually started getting larger.

This was my EE's 3rd egg...poor girl. It was like 2 eggs were attached together.
