I think feeding them oyster shell would help in making their shells stronger, certainly - they need that and grit if you're giving them scratch

They're still young, so odd eggs are normal yet. They'll get bigger and better as they get used to laying more frequently. Give them extra treats (fruits, veggies, protein *cooked eggs, meat, yogurt, cottage cheese, meal worms, crickets, etc*, raw oats, black oil sun flower seeds, homemade bird flock, etc) - to their diet too - they'll love it all
