New electric fence. Can you spell that sound?

Speaking of electric fences, the first night we had our fence around our garden a sparrow landed on the normal fence below it and bit the electric wire right above where it was perching. This resulted in its beak getting fried onto the electric part, its feet getting fried to the normal fence and its legs getting vaporized, it was still hanging from the electric part by its beak.

I was still young when I witnessed this, I'm guessing around 9, I would never believed it if I didn't see it. I didn't see it happen I just saw the aftermath, I am guessing the bird died instantly so it didn't suffer. It still amazes me that something like this could possibly happen. I just thought I would share this one in a million story.

I seen something similar--at my old house we had hotwire running on top of the cedar posts to keep the horses from leaning on the field fence. A sparrow landed on top of post and must have touched wire (and was therefore grounded since standing on the post). He got FRIED!! I found it just standing there-- all dried out like it been taken to the taxidermy.
