ChickaD- I make a normal meat loaf, then often I use spaghetti sauce, pour 1/4 of the jar in crock first, then put meatloaf mix in crock, using your hand, smoosh meatloaf so that it only has about an inch from the sides, pour in rest of sauce right over the top of meatloaf, then fill the jar/can with 1/2 water, rinse and pour that over the meatloaf, cover and let cook. At end of the day you will find seasonings from the sauce in the center of meatloaf. unreal! Serve that with spaghetti. I also use a liptons onion soup mix in with meatloaf too. Then you have something to mix cornstarch with to have gravey. Yummy. Of course, you can go the quick easy route and add potatoe cubes, raw rice and veggies to meat loaf and cook either way and you have a meal in one.
Hope you enjoy this recipe!

I have to find a crock for salt pork this week.( Dropped the pig of this morning) Any suggestions on where to find one?

Honestly, I do not have a clue where you'd find one. If you did find a used one, I'd be nervous using one from someones basement- molds that aren't yours (sounds weird) Why couldn't you get 5 or larger gallon pails have a hunk of wood cut round, layer in your pork/salt then place that on top weighted down. I should think that the only difference would be the need to drain and add more salt because the fluid would not be dehydrating out the sides of the crock...hmmm.
I'll have to ask Ma what she knows about locating crocks. Good luck!

Oh, thank you, spook! I can't WAIT to try that... and the family thanks you because you have singlehandedly rescued them from another winter of crock pot "Whatever Stew" (whatever meat we have on hand, plus onion, garlic and veggies and various herbs to pretend it's a different version...hah)
Now you got my mouth watering, but I have to go outside and play "scrape and paint" before my brush freezes up!

ok, i am making an emailing list of anyone in nh, ma, me that wants to be kept updated on local swaps, i have organized with cheryl 2 at tsc in milford, and we are working on more, in fact the next one is nov 8
so if you want a monthly email letting you know the local groups and shows/swaps just pm me with your email address and i will put you on the list, we are looking to do some in merrimack, nh milford, nh westford ma, scarborough me, possible, tilton, nh and littleton? will see, let me know, thanks

I believe there is to be a swap at Bethel, VT in early November. I am guessing that it won't be too far from I-89 so maybe worth a trip from NH and ME?

can you get the details for me, like who is putting it on, if there is a sellers fee, and where it will be located and i will include it in my mailer, thanks

i am putting a list together that will have local swaps/shows it will be an email i am getting addresses together to send it out , once its ready. i found that when i was trying to find swap show info you have to go all over the place, seemed like the information would be better to have all in one place. so thats where the idea came from.
