New Englanders! Much ado about New England!

90 minute delay here. Everything is covered in ice. Temps dropped just low enough last night that all the rain froze up. It's going to be slow going.

Same here. It's disgusting. But I'm glad it's not ice and we still have power.

Ah, but it's all ice this morning! Not breaking trees, at least, but everything is coated in thick layers of ice, the patio, walks, driveway, chicken run, it's bad out there!!

At least the sun is out

and 2 tylenol with a heating pad, I think I'll live.
The sun is such a welcome site after a storm. Makes the girls happy!

It was only a 1 hour delay up here for school, good luck bus drivers in New England!

no hours delay they went to school normal time...have another foot in my yard with a crust of ice on top...My next door neighbors dog walked over the fence and killed 3 of my chickens...the fourth chicken is in my house hatching eggs...or I would have lost the lot...I have 2 babies born so far waiting to see if the other 4 hatch...

momofdrew, I am sooo sorry to hear of your loss. Grrr, how maddening of them. You really should contact animal control so its reported. That is just horrible.
Glad you have the broody one in the house, you have a chance for gaining young ones.
Hugs to you, hope your day improves.

i just dont know how i would handle it, i would be soo mad, i find it painful when a fox, skunk or hawk comes to eat, but a dog, oh i would be so mad.

I would be charging them $$$ for replacements. No way should this go unnoticed, you will have more birds and it will happen again now the dog knows what fun and taste chickens have.
This needs to be addressed!!!! It frustrates me to no end how careless most dog owners are, "not MY dog"...grrrrrr.

Wow, we hit the mid forties here today. What a great day to start construction on my coop, which I did. I got the main deck done with the help of my brother. He happens to be a builder. The 8x8 deck went together in about 20 minutes and we placed it in the spot I picked. Can you believe it was dead level when we set it on the concrete blocks?

Just wanted to share my excitement. Let's hope that we don't get pounded on Tuesday with another storm.

Bill
