Yes. I understand the time and money that it takes for showing dogs. I put 15 titles on one of my guys, got a world title, Ch. of The America's, Westminster, multiple BIS and BISS, Did alot of ads and gaiting videos for the GRCA . Traveled to show at Crufts for a friend of mine that lives in England. "Those were the days"

LOL so lots of crazy dog-show folks on here huh? I took some time off when my son got here - just dabbled here and there, but I'm getting the itch to get back in the ring a little more frequently...
 
There sure seems to be... lol I had a big awaking when getting into chickens.. of course the competitive side always comes out of me.. Can't help it. Always striving to improve. It is the cootie part about chickens that bothers me about showing....One can bring too much home with them from a show that could affect their whole flock!.... Mareks is a big killer... you can vac for it but your birds will still be carriers even if they don't die from it. :( There are many more cooties too... My chickens are a labor of love... I take good care of all living things in my pocession. I just can't bring myself to risk my entire flock for a a blue ribbon. :( I am sorry if I hurt anyones feelings.. that is not my intent...

I believe the world of chickens is changing... more folks are keeping them as pets and who knows... before long perhaps more people will start vaccinating their flocks for different cooties :)
 
I go to the chicken shows to learn--but I have not been able to give up my university learning. I go to swaps and shows, come home, toss everything in the wash. I mean my clothes!!! All my chickens stayed home. I appreciate all those people who want to show so I can learn. I can't get past the university rules of when a chicken leaves the main chicken building it can never come back in. Very strict protocols.

I am sure there is very good reasons for that rule too...:)
