Hello all. My daughter and I are raising 12 chickens. We are in the mountains of North Carolina. She has wanted chickens for several years so we took the plunge. We have golden comets, back sex links and buff Orpingtos..
We have lots to learn and look forward to all the help from those of you with all of the knowledge.
We are building or run and coop our selves. I will post pics as we go along

Welcome to BYC!

Congrats on the new chicks! You will love the Orpingtons. Very docile, friendly and great layers. If you need any tips and hints on raising your new brood, stop by our learning center here on BYC for lots of great reads on all the aspects of keeping your flock...

And while you are building the coop, if you should run into any issues, you can post questions in our Coop Construction Forums for lots of help with the build...
