New feathers causing the problem?

I have 3 jersey giant chicks that are almost 3 weeks old. They have been getting a ton of new feathers and I know that when my moms parrots get new feathers it drives them crazy with itching. Are chickens the same? My chicks look like they are healthy, they flap around, run, and try to escape their brooder like something from mission impossible. Except today I noticed them getting dust baths in the ground up wood pellets and just laying there trying to get on their backs while panting. (temp of brooder is 80). Normal behavior Or behavior indicating illness?

my chickens do the same thing. i dont think they are sick. just dust bathing.
