new feed store chicks

Congrats! They are so cute! Those little fuzzy butts make me miss when my chicks where fuzzy butts and not in the ackward in between stage. Our feed store chicks aren't in yet so I have a few more weeks to wait and its so hard!!!

My DH doesn't know it yet but I plan on getting a lot of them when they get in!

They seem to run the gamut of colors but I think the one's I have will end up looking something like these.

Sorry to hear about the silkie! It's very cold here right now so even though mine are in the house right now they are under a heat lamp.

They definitely need supplemental heat. I believe their brooder needs to be around 100 degrees when they are very young. Then you gradually drop the temp each week. 48 overnight is definitely too low!

my guess is

#1 OEGB
#2 OEGB's
#3 MF d'Uccle
#4 Looks bearded so not cochin
#5 Looks bearded again so maybe porcelain d'Uccle
#6 Black or Blue silkie
#7 I think they are easter eggers not ameraucanas or araucanas
