New Flock owners - Maryland (until we find a way to move lol)

Ohh, I see, I see... I know a lot of people who went to school in Salisbury or other eastern shore school but moved either to Baltimore or DC areas for jobs. And of course there are a lot of jobs that pay just barely enough to live on. I am sorry you're in that situation, a year is a long time. Oregon is lovely! I understand wanting to go there. Yup it would be hard to move all of those animals.
I guess I don't think of the job market as that rough here because I'm not that for from DC and my frame of reference is western NY and Indiana, which are far worse.

Western Maryland would be so much easier right now. LOL! I have never had such trouble finding work, so this is all new to me. My husband needs me to find work, so I'll stop starting projects around the house. ;-)

Employment is so odd lately. If I apply for entry level jobs, I'm told that my qualifications are impressive and don't fit for the company's needs (I even tried general laborer at the evil chicken plants lol), but the rest of the opportunities around here want you to have a bachelor's degree or master's degree (even if you already have experience in said position)... is this everywhere, or just here??? :-/

Thanks for the welcome! :-D

Michael, ferrets take a lot of specialized care, but make WONDERFUL pets for the right people. :-) They have taught and trained me well. ;-) I always recommend adoption (I'm a rescuer, it's in my nature lol) and a trip to a ferret rescue will be a great learning experience too. I love them all. :-) Feel free to ask questions!

Drumstick, they maxout growth, so he's a normal sized guppy. His colors are fading and he shows his age, but we are convinced that he's a mutant and is never going to die. :-) He has outlived all of his tank mates and hasn't showed signs of slowing down. Lol

Thanks for the thread, North! I was looking for it last night. :-) I actually grew up in Central Florida. :-) It's too hot down there for me, but I like going back to visit. :-)

We just moved up to this part of FL about 1 1/2 yrs ago. We came here from the Keys...now that's some nice weather year round! Here, it's cold during the short winter and steamy hot in the long summer (not to mention love bugs, yuck!) but pretty nice the rest of the time.

Glad to have you here @Juliann1984 ! If you need help finding anything just give a shout.

I am on the Eastern Shore of Maryland also, and was born in Tallahassee, Florida.

Welcome, I'm a newbie too!
