New flock won't lay!

I just brought home three new hens all just a year old who have been laying fine where I got them but they haven't laid for me yet. I got them on Monday. I have two buff orpingtons and one lavender orpington. I've gotten other chickens from other flocks and they've always laid at least the next day. What gives? Do you think they prefer hay than straw or is there something else I'm missing? They're acting like chickens so not traumatized or anything lol.

I did! They're in a coop with the run underneath so I don't see how they could've hidden any.

They may be acting normal, but that doesn't mean the move didn't stress them out. They might just need some more time to adjust. Maybe a little extra protein and some electrolytes will help.

It is quite common for the birds to be very stressed by the move and it will sometimes take a while before they resume laying. Be patient with them.

Kind of but one laid a little bit ago so that's promising!

Normal after a stressful situation to not lay for a bit. Keep waiting.
