Finally, friends--I will be receiving my latest flock of 2-day-old ducklings from Metzer Farms. These will replace the last group, who were carried away by a coyote. I have already upgraded the door locking mechanism on the coop, so no coyote or fox can get in.
So far in my experience with raising ducklings, I've had excellent results, and I hope this time things will go just as well. I have more than I need as far as materials, foods, additives, etc, and the collected knowledge of having raised over 30 of the little guys. My ratio, if Metzer gets it right, will be one male to 4-females.
It's funny, I am just as nervous as I was the very first time. By my reckoning, ducklings are some of the very cutest creatures on this planet! And because they grow SO FAST, it is important to get all the photos I can get, early on. Of course I will share the photos.
Wish me luck, all.
Gil
