New foal

Had my second foal of the year, a really nice big colt. He was up and had nursed in 45 mins. Very healthy and strong. He's not even 1 hour old in this picture, was foaled 8 pm this evening. One more due, then Im done. Foaling always makes me nervous, I can't relax until the foal is born and healthy, and Mom has recovered.

Had one surprise me this year and now I'm not sure which is worse, the agony of waiting or the sudden realization of everything that could have gone wrong just because I wasn't there to prevent it.
