Just starting out. I have a new orchard 6mtrs by 30 mths and have my chicks roaming all day and at night I lock them into their chick house, there are still plenty of greens growing plus I put all my garden waste here to keep the soil covered. They dig such big holes but are very quiet and content. My Mother 91yrs chats to them often. I still put my kitchen waste into buried worm buckets although the chicks dig down around them for the bugs. I will need to keep them here for at least a year until their own permanent run will be built. I do have a problem with one chicken who seems so restless and stressed.
