Here is a link about landrace chickens also known as Icelandic Chickens for those not familiar. They are great foragers and will enjoy chicken scraps. Since are small birds should not cost much to feed. Easy on the dollar. https://livestockconservancy.org/index.php/heritage/internal/icelandic

Land race is a category, Icelandics are only one breed that falls into that category.

These are the chickens. Two roosters and 9 hens. Expecting chicks in two weeks from now. The younger rooster has green feet with orange tips, and our bigger rooster has a triple comb ? The black hen is an older hen I believe and she has either an eye infection, or some type of bump infront of it preventing her from seeing properly on that side of her. She came to us that way already.

They look like they have some Egyptian Fayoumi influence, which is not surprising. What color egg do they lay? I'm seeing both single and pea combs, which suggests that the parents breeds were either single combed AND pea combed, or heterozygous pea combed.

Tail posture suggests a lack of asian breed influence such as Brahma or Cochin. Probably lack of Langshan, too. No wyandotte involved or MOST north american breed influences due to time periods.
I suspect that European breeds make up the majority, both because of shape and, mainly, because of the colonization of north Africa/Somalia.
If I had to guess, I would say that landrace Spanish and Icelandic breeds make up the majority with some Belgian and Leghorn influence.
I would not be surprised if there was some longtail in there, but hard to say after so much evolution.

Your second male has a very, very bad case of scaley leg mites which is painful.

That's what it is. He came in like that and I thought that maybe he was shedding skin lol. I feel so bad now that I hadn't suspected something else. I was hoping that with bathing and massage it will come off ? Our first rooster had this too but soon after getting him his legs became smoother and smoother but this new male had a really bad case of these scabs. Hat can I do about this to help him ? Keep in mind that no vetinary care exists in this part of the country and there are no medications, commercial products.
