They are, I'm in the city proper.
Passed the chicken ordinance a few years ago. They increased the requirements recently though.

Many years ago my older sister was diagnosed with hyper thyroid and had it eliminated by radiation. That led to her being on thyroid meds for hypo thyroid, since that time.

Hi! Welcome to BYC! Would you consider a Buff Orpington in that mix? I love them the best of ALL! I do have Australorps and Lavender Orpingtons too. They are all great!

I love my Buff Orpingtons and Black Australorps. They're always running to be next to me. Okay, I love all my girls. I think my Blue Orpingtons are a bit ditzy. Just saying.
