New from Chicago suburbs, hope to have chickens soon

I'm a newbie, from the western suburbs of Chicago. Chickens are not allowed in my town per village ordinance. I am in the process of getting together a group of people to approach the village and try to get the chicken related ordinances changed. I'll be reading a lot here and learning. Hopefully we will be able to get things changed so that I (and others) can have backyard chickens.

I thought Chicago allows chickens! Try looking under Laws under the BYC Forum and find out for sure what you can do.
