Welcome to the roost, MJ. Colorado? The land of big steep hills.

So much to learn here, for sure. I think Joe was trying to breed a
Colorado Chicken that laid square eggs, on account of he opened
his coop door one day and all the eggs rolled to the neighbors house.

One of the most important things to remember in Colorado...coop door goes on up-hill side.

Another tid-bit? I also began with farm store beasts...little chickys, little duckys. They were cute. And grew up together. But...ducks can't roost. They would get up there...and fall of in a bit. But they tried. Learned to sleep UNDER the roost.....And I had very dirty ducks.

I don't do ducks no more.

I know what you're thinking...Spook should of read this forum in the beginning himself.

So don't do what I did. Take time to read the the forums, ask your questions.

Lots of great information here, and these people (mostly) know about chickens.

Except me...I know very little about anything. They just let me hang out cause I've got nowhere else to go.
