Hello
A mum to several ducks and a random mix of hens. Unfortunately can't keep cockerells as I'm in a built up area.
Have been keeping poultry since I was 5- 6 (I'm now 17) so have had quite a bit of experience.

Currently have 3 broody pekin bantams that behave like lunatics.
Have 2 pet male call ducks that attack ankles in the spring. One had a female but she died in the summer half term so he has now adopted a Croc as his new wife and won't go to bed unless it goes with him

I'm sorry he lost his lady, but I LOVE the photo of your beautiful drake and his Croc!

Lunatic broodies and ankle-attacking drakes sounds like home to me. Are your girls making chicks or just defending empty nests? When they're broody, mine will scream as much over an eggless nest as one where they've actually laid.

My drakes don't attack me, but heaven help the female ducks when the boys are in the mood for romance.

Best wishes with all your birds, and welcome to BYC!
