Hello from Southern Illinois. I'll do the easy way and answer the questions:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We've had chickens for about 5 years. They came home as a school project from my son and have grown since.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have about 12 chickens right now, but one of our broodys just hatched 4 more.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have a Buff Orphington, Rhode Island Reds, a Maran, Sulkies, and Cochan bantam.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I found this site when we first got chickens and it helped me to build our coop. I finally decided to join.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, sewing, crocheting, fishing. We like to be outdoors.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have one son as well as a farmer husband. Besides our chickens, we have 6 ducks, 2 dogs, and a guinea pig.
