new from missouri

Hi,
I'm a new chicken lover from Columbia Missouri. I incubated a batch of silkie eggs and now have 8 1 month old silkie chicks. I just moved them outside yesterday - though I'm bringing them in at night at this point because the nights are so cool. I'm loving it so far - there is something so peaceful about watching them scratch in the yard. I have a multitude of other animals (dogs, cats, lizards, rabbits, guinea pigs) and I volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary where there are tigers and lions and such - so a true animal nut.
Glad this site is available to answer questions from people who are "in the know"

from WI. Isn't it nice to have your private zoo at home..

for volunteering at the sanctuary!! Big wildlife!! I've only done greyhound and cat rescue, seabirds after an oilspill, beached whale and manatees. Not here in WI though....kind of too far inland....
