Well, I am new or rather back! I was a member here some years back. I had lots of chickens, mainly Silkies and Frizzled Cochins. My Silkie Rooster died and it broke my heart. I gave all my chickens away and concentrated on birds. Birds are my passion but, I have truly missed having chickens. There really arent words to describe having a chicken addiction other than they are indeed like potato chips. One is not enough. I have been jonesing for chickens the last two years!
The last time I ordered hatching eggs was in 2003. I broke down and bought six black Cochin chicks last Easter. We had a lot of snow and ice this last winter in NC. I lost all but two. They hatched out a baby about two weeks ago. They are doing great but, I was disappointed that only one hatched. I decided to go find my incubator only to be disappointed that mice had chewed it into swiss cheese. Luckily, a friend has loaned me an incubator to use. Ive ordered 36 hatching eggs and I am hoping the last twelve arrive tomorrow so I can set them on Thursday.
Ive been reading here for days. There are lots and lots of people here now! I also have discovered that I have forgotten so many things. I may be asking a lot of questions but, hopefully it will all come back to me. I do remember that my incubator was very rarely cold!
