I am also from NY, Staten Island actually. Can I just ask you directly in this post.. We hatched a chick and a rooster in may and now my neighbours are giving me a hard time with a rooster. Apparently he is a criminal for making people know if there is a cat in the yard, or something scary around. So I am looking for a place for him and his lady, they are bonded and they hatched together . They are Rhode Island Red and quite pretty. I love the rooster.. Just sad that the city had these ridiculous rules about no roosters in NYC.

Welcome to our family. Sad about the rooster. Many cities don’t allow roosters, I’m very glad my little town allows them, because I love my friendly roosters. I couldn’t live without them.
