(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Sort of. We got our first chickens in November. They were all adult chickens. Added two bantams shortly after. Then got an order of assorted chicks. About half were meat birds which we just processed. Also added 4 turkeys somewhere in there.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
6 adults, about 10 chicks and 4 turkeys.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Assorted.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I like to see their little personalities come out when they're out in the yard. Also the eggs.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I have four kids who keep us busy. We also added 3 sheep this spring so thats been interesting.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
4 kids, 2 dogs and a barn cat. Software engineer by day.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
