I was just watching all their behaviors and notice my dominate buff acting less assertive and intentional today and noticed her meandering around more alone this morning & she napped in a hiding spot this afternoon twice but tonight she is back to her leadership roleHello and welcome to BYC!Glad you joined.
What makes you worried about one of them?
I would refrain from feeding anything other than chick starter. No corn.I was just watching all their behaviors and notice my dominate buff acting less assertive and intentional today and noticed her meandering around more alone this morning & she napped in a hiding spot this afternoon twice but tonight she is back to her leadership role
I listened to all of their tiny fast hearts and chests and their little digestive systems tonight. There is a strange sound that I didn’t know chickens make i guess… if I were listening my girls lungs I would think they were having asthma flare going on & would call the immunolgist & start them on a breathing treatment but these are baby chicks so I’m learning. They came from Meyer Hatchery & did get a Mariks vaccine before coming to me. They arrive so fast, healthy & happy! They eat corn/soy free Scratch and Peek organic and have Small Select Batch chick grit, water always clean, aspen and Natural paper bedding mix. Have tons of enrichment and have brooder heat plate at night and heat lamp at 95° this week during day. They are active, wild, sleeping, playing, curious, pooping, drinking and eating & sweet. No signs of anything else.
I don’t allow poop to stay in play pen for long at all. It’s like changing diapers all over again!
Debating if I should warm Vet RX and do some drops in the water before bed.
I honestly take having pets/animals seriously & did research & FIL is retired vet. Once I joined FB groups is where I realized that having healthy chickens seems like a rarity.
I pray mine are good & thrive!
