I am a first time chicken owner. I have four young hens that I call the Rocker Chix. We got them when they were a few days old and they are now 7 weeks old. 1 -Silver Laced Wyndotte(Roxy), 1 specked Sussex (Stevie Nix), 1 Black Sex Link(Joan Jet) and 1 Plymouth Rock(Alanas Morissette). We are having a lot of enjoyment with them and watching Chicken TV! My husband and I are in the process of building their chicken coop and run. So far I have learned so much from the BYC websight and I know I have a lot more to learn!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. You have a great mix of breeds and I love your chicken's names. Black Sex Links are my favorites as they are friendly and hardy, egg laying machines. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds and hybrids), and they have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 eggs per hen per year. You should get loads of large, brown eggs from Joan Jet. :eek:) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
