Hey,
I am an Iowa farm girl that has been living between Houston and Galveston in the burbs for five years (ugh). I have two little girls that I think this would be a great experience.
Just found out our city ordinance does allow chickens (wohoo!) and am looking for people who have chickens in suburbia in the Houston area. Just in the first stages looking for a breed that does well with the heat and a good coop design for hot weather. We live on 1/4 acre so probably looking at getting 2 or 3 to start out with.
