New from Virginia

I am new, from Swoope, Virginia. My Great Aunt Madge had chickens and I always wanted a small farm like she had. Getting a late start, (since I am forty), this spring, my husband has promised to build me a coop and get me those chickens. I will just start off raising them for eggs-- maybe later, for meat (not my egg layers because they may end up like pets and depending on, if I can understand the work involved,) but I have to say, stumbling onto this website is probably the best thing ever. Thanks to the people who gave such DETAILED plans on the coops they made, and all those who contributed under the breeds.
