Hi all! I have been a creeper on this site for several months now and have appreciated the stories and knowledge I have gained, so I finally joined. Our youngest daughter, 15yo, has a strong connection with animals and really wanted chickens, so we said what the heck. My husband started working on a coop and told me we could pick out a few. Well, we currently have 12, but they are about 17 weeks old and I am pretty sure there are a few boys in the mix, so he will be happy when that number goes down some. lol I am enjoying the little buggers; I spend time every afternoon just sitting in the yard watching them roam around and scavenge. It makes me take a break and get some fresh air. I look forward to all of your encouragement!

You have all the right feelings. Chickens are very relaxing, but also extremely addictive! Do your homework, and beware of "Chicken Math"
