I see there is a Salkum way out there. You would be very disappointed in Auburn, the southend has replaced farms with supermalls.

For chickens we are focusing on Black Australorps and Buff Orpingtons, but we also a variety of others we've tried out. New this year are three Orloffs, whose personalities are becoming my favorite. The turkeys we have are Red Bourbons. Turkeys are new to us. They are almost seven weeks old and I am really enjoying them. We are using the chickens for eggs mostly but we do harvest the cockerels. We're looking at some meat varieties to test out maybe this year, projects depending. They turkeys are for meat, but if I really enjoy raising them, and I'm sure I will we'll keep a tom and two hens for breeding next year.
