Hello all just thought I'd say hi, I'm new to BYC and live in the Wichita area, looking forward to talking with like minded people about the whole chicken thing.... That being said we started our chickens (Americaunas) in February/March time frame, they are doing well but what was supposed to be all pullets turned out to be possibly 2 roos (one for sure, and the other may just have a large single comb not 3 ridges like the other). Not sure what we are going to do with him as city ordnance states we cannot have a too. Anyhow Hello everyone!!!

Welcome to BYC!

Congrats on your new babies! They just grow so fast. I sure hope you don't have a roo in your mix! You can always post his pic in our What Gender section here on BYC for some good ID.....

And if you have any other questions, that is what we are here for. Enjoy your new babies and welcome to our flock!

Thank you I will post a pic of both I'm positive that one is a roo but the other is hard to tell, I've been told that americaunas can have large pea combs...

Hello :frow And Welcome To BYC! Sorry you wound up with one or two roos, X2 on posting in the What Gender forum for help with figuring out the questionable one. For placing them, you might try posting in the Kansas state thread if anyone near you is looking for a roo https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/248925/consolidated-kansas and you can put up Ads in the BYC Buy Sell Trade forum after you have 20 posts, there are sections for animals in need or rehoming also.

Thank you for the info kelsie2290, when I get off work today I will post both chicks just to get a census on what people think gender is.
