Ok. I have 6 7.5-week old chicks from My Pet Chicken. I'm feeling very stressed that more than half are turning roo on me (I only ordered female). The breeds are White Rock, White Sultan, Silkie, EE, Ameraucana, and Blue Laced Red Wyandotte (got a black one I guess). All opinions welcome I'm new to all these breeds.

The Rock, EE and Ameraucana are pullets.

The sultan and silkie aren't pinging my roo-dar, but I'm not as positive on those breeds.

The glw is on the fence for me. Not as roo-ish as I'd expect at this age, but it just doesn't have a nice feminine look.

IMO that silkie is a roo..I'm no expert for sure, but I am raising 8 silkies and that one looks like my 2 silkie roos (i have 5 roos out of 8) I feel your pain.

Well the silkie wasn't one of the ones I was worried about. Lol. Now I am. I was really concerned with the BLRW and White Rock. Both are pretty dominate. The silkie is quite a mouth. She/He will be the first one to peep until she gets her way.

Also is this really a BLRW? Seems like she is soooooo much darker than the My Pet Chicken picture on the website. Would love some expertise on this.

Wait! You said Glw? Not BLRW? Is there a difference?

It looks like a regular gold laced Wyandotte to me. I guess there is a blue-ish sheen to some of the feathers in one pic, I wasn't sure if it was glare or not. It could possibly be a very dark blue. I'm thinking blue laced birds breed like any other black/blue/splash, so you may have a black bird from blue x blue pairing.
