New gosling with eye infection :(

When I got my goslings one of them, Boris, was like half the size. He was so small he could almost be confused with the ducklings. After about a week or 2 he really grew and is now the same size as Natasha, he just stands taller. I worried for him a lot when they first arrived. Now they are large and in charge. They rule over other birds not people! :) I am sure that Chuck and Sarah will be better soon.

Ohh zooweemama just found your thread, hope your lil ones are doing really great today, sounds like you are doing your best to get them through this.

Thanks! It helps to read success stories. They are general really sweet with each other but sometimes Chuck will just randomly peck her eye. I don't know what's up with that but I am sure it doesn't help. Their breathing 'seems' to have cleared up some.

Glad they are doing better today. Can you set up some sort of screen that they can see each other, but Chuck can't get to her?

I am sure I can. I will keep watching Chick's behavior to see if I need to do this. I hate to separate them- they get stressed out if they can't dog pile on top of each other. It's so sweet. If one moves away, they other shrieks and dashes over to neck wrestle a spot. They do it to each other- the screen might stress them but if he doesn't let her eyes heal- I will absolutely have to do this. I am obsessively checking on them and her eyes are significantly better. I am going to give her another bath today (i use the term loosely. just a couple inches of warm water she can stand in- chuck too or they flip out if the other isn't with them. for some reason she will really preen like mad and she gets her eyes good and clean. with the cup of water she just blows her nares out. her eyes look better each time she gets to take a preening bath. once her eyes are all cleared up i can stop.) Their appetites have really perked up since giving them generous servings of grass. Yay!
