My son said he was going to order me some goslings. Other than size, how do they differ from ducks? Will they need anything special as babies or adults? Can they be housed with ducks, or will they need their own place?

I raised my goslings and ducks together. Fred the gander looks after the ducks as well as his goose. They are much less social than the ducks raised alone. That could be me and not the geese.

My gosling lives with ducklings hes is way more friendly and social than the ducklings hes a gentle giant. And hes less messy than the ducklings, we really enjoy him. We have wild geese that have lived in our pasture for years and they are also very cool they arent mean or crazy like you hear about as long as you are social everyday.

The goslings are on their way! A male, a female, and a random. They are Toulouse. What do I need to know about them? How do they differ from ducks?

Not that much I raised mine with some duckings. I didn't handle mine enough so I would suggest cuddle time. Mine were fascinated with shiny things and pecked at my watch and rings. Feed them flock raiser not chicken food. I don't know about Toulouse but my Africans are loud. They also bully the ducks a bit. Think they are smarter than my little bird brains.

I raise mine with ducks, geese require more socializing and desire more interaction than my ducks geese are smarter than ducks in my oppinion and need flock raiser like stated by others. mine are loud even my goslings are very loud and needy they want alot of attention the most injoyable of all my animals for sure. Hold as often as possible and talk to them a lot.

Will they need special housing? Do they stay in one area, or do they wander like chickens do? I've read that they are a larger breed. About how much space will they need? I can set up a pool for them if it's necessary.
