Anybody have any tips from raising a Pyrenees to not really guard but tolerate chickens in her pasture? I got a new Pyrenees Sunday, she is 4 and a half months old and she has been raised around mini horses, cats, and other dogs. I am going to have her in a pasture with sheep but I want her to at least tolerate chickens coming into her area. I currently have a cage of silkies in the barn so 'Katy' can see, smell, and hear them.

I correct her bad behavior with an "AT" as a warning "NO", "NO" "LEAVE IT" and she gets a "NO" "DOWN" when she jumps up.

Sounds like you're off to a good start. Just takes a lot of patience and consistency. I like to use the" leave it" command for my dogs; I use the "off" command if they jump up (I reserve the "down" command for when I want them to lie in a down position).

What, no pictures?
